Who runs it?

Sherina Russell- Director
Having trained at LAMDA (The London Academy
of Music and Dramatic Art), Sherina had a variety of acting jobs, including touring the UK with the West End production of The 39 Steps. She also produced a play for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and presented a documentary. She very quickly discovered her passion for teaching, collaborating, and sharing the wonders of theatre with young people. Sherina has run her own group for 11 years and set up Russell Actors in London 6 years ago. She also teaches and mentors privately around London.
“Over the past 11 years of directing and creating unique projects, I have had the pleasure of seeing numerous children grow into confident young adults, many of whom have gone on to study at Britain’s top universities and drama schools. Through drama they have the opportunity to develop their creativity; ability to communicate their ideas; articulation and projection; spatial and physical awareness; time-management; vocabulary; comedy timing and sense of compassion. Students often feel inspired to research the topic we are focusing on; drama definitely nurtures the inquisitive mind. Perhaps most importantly of all – they love it! I feel incredibly fortunate to do what I do, with young people that inspire me and make me laugh!”
